The Brewery Arts Centre is based in Kendal, Cumbria.
The Brewery Arts Centre is a thriving and dynamic arts organisation with over forty years experience of delivering an exciting and inspirational programme, including artistic events, festivals and creative learning courses. Our venue is a beautiful, historic building full of charm and set against the backdrop of the picturesque market town of Kendal. We host five major festivals every year, including the internationally renowned Kendal Mountain Festival, and we have developed strong partnerships with key organisations such as Manchester’s renowned Band on the Wall. We are proud to be Cumbria Life Culture Awards ‘Venue of the Year’ 2017!
During our time at college we have been involved off and on with this venue. The Kendal Mountain Festival is held here every year and students are asked to suport in the setting up and running of this. The venue is also used for work experience. It is worth noting that many of the technicians who now work for the Brewery Arts Centre also started their career pathway at Kendal College.
Each year Kendal college put on their Final Major Project (FMP) in the venue
e.g Urine Town, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
The college hires the venue and we the students plan and put on the production Further information for hiring the veue can be found here. As such we have various vists to the venue in regards to venue size and technical specifications.
